He's Where the Peace Is

By definition, peace is: a state of tranquility or quiet, freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions
I love that, I want that, do you?
We search, we struggle, we hustle, to find peace.
We look to relationships, shopping, gambling, alcohol, drugs, FOOD, hoarding, addictions, any number of things that basically distract us from the fact that on the inside we are not peaceful.
Where is peace?
He's where the peace is.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
Now from The Message Bible:
“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught."
And I have to add this one from Ephesians 2:14
He himself is our peace.
We won't find peace in this world, it's a inside job.
It comes from a relationship with Jesus. He Himself is our peace.
Until we address this, we will never find peace, we will continue to strive & struggle but never experience that quiet freedom that is only found in the loving and trustworthy heart of God.
This journey starts with receiving, His love, His forgiveness, and His will in our lives. Looking for Him everywhere we go and in everything we do.
From there, His hand in ours, we can start addressing the other things we turned to for comfort and peace.
